The KHIO campus is situated by the dramatic waterfall of the Akerselva, an river that gave power to the industrial development of the city in the 19th century. The academy has 40.000 sq.m at its disposal and is certainly one of the most advanced and well equipped art schools in Europe. The buildings were a formerly part of a textile plant.

A pre-screening application and audition (via CD) are required for all first-time participants unless notified otherwise by a member of the LidalNorth Faculty. In addition to this screening, priority will be given to those singers who plan to attend the entire ten days of the workshop.
For those singers who are accepted to participate in the festival part-time (either late arrival or early departure), please note that the tuition fee will remain the same ($1000 US, NOK 7000).
Additionally, there is no guarantee that part-time recipients will receive an equal number of lessons and coachings to those of the full-time participants.
Singers must provide their own transportation to and from Oslo, as well as housing in the city.
