Solveig Competition

The Solveig Competition - is a competition within the LidalNorth summer festival, open only to workshop participants.  Singers compete for three prizes, plus one prize for audience favorite.  Prize money is intended to assist singers in their artistic development.  Repertoire requirements are:  one original art song in the Norwegian language, one art song by Edvard Grieg, and three operatic arias of the singer's choice .  The competition, held in a concert setting, is open to the public.  The jury will consist of professional singers from the Norwegian Opera House, and specific award amounts will be announced closer to the time of the festival .
